Very special statement necklace made from three 30 x 22mm spiny oyster cabochons, one 20 x 40 oval cabochon, and one 30 x 40 teardrop cabochon. Chain is made from 6mm turquoise beads interspersed with coral-colored seed beads. Beads around cabochons are 3mm turquoise beads. Black polyester fiber throughout. Black hook-and-eye clasp with crystal extender chain. Length is adjustable with extender chain. Back of piece is finished with ultrasuede.
 
Spiny oyster is a deep water shell known for its colors that range from orange to purple to red. Spiny oyster shell is highly valued for use in art and jewelry pieces, and it is getting harder and harder to find. I found some at the Tucson gem show a couple years ago and have been making pieces with my collection.
